Peacepainting Exhibition at Harstad Kulturhus

October 27, 2022 Peacepainting

In collaboration with Harstad Kulturskole, we arranged a Peacepainting exhibition at Harstad Kulturhus in October 2022. The paintings exhibited were made by children who recently came to Norway as refugees, and who have not yet learned Norwegian.

The children have challenging backgrounds, and powerful messages in their paintings. By giving them the tools of art, we gave them an opportunity to express their feelings, experiences and inner world, and we listened carefully to their messages. Exhibiting the paintings in Harstad Kulturhus further helped lifting their voices up in society.
