As part of two projects, Nordic Peacepainting 2024 and InAutism – Fostering Adult Integration, we conducted workshops with residents at Bindalseidet Day Center. The workshops were held over 2 days, and were the first in a series of workshops that will be held with these two projects.

Nordic Peacepainting 2024

In cooperation with Bodø 2024, Peacepainting will develop and establish a series of workshops, exhibitions and training courses in a project named Nordic Peacepainting 2024. This workshop was part of the Nordic Peacepainting 2024 project which will culminate with exhibitions and additional workshops during Bodø 2024.

InAutism – Fostering Adult Integration

In collaboration with the Portuguese association APPDA Leiria and Autismo Vigo we will take part in a project called “InAutism – Fostering Adult Integration”. APPDA Leiria is an Activity Center located in Portugal, and Autismo Vigo is located in Spail. Together we will develop new forms of communication for people with special needs. The Peacepainting Method will be used as an instrument/ tool for self-relaxation, problem solving, for developing different perspectives/angles and for communicating emotions and memories. Together we will also practice co-creation techniques and methods in order to enhance the intrinsic values of compassion, empathy, critical thinking and autonomy. This work applies not only to participants with special needs, the direct target groups, but also to caregivers, including family members, partners and health professionals.

The residents at Bindalseidet Dagsenter will later travel to Portugal and take part in an exchange with users of APPDA Leiria where we will further develop our work together.
