In September, we had a working meeting with partner "Avinor". We now have a good dialogue, and have agreed on a path for further cooperation.

Kunstner og båtbygger
Salah Ben Amor besøkte Bindal nå i slutten av juni. Som en avslutning på Nordlandsbåtregattaen 2015, hadde han søndag 28. juni en presentasjon på Bindal museum. Ben Amor viste eksempler på skulpturer, bildevev, malerier og installasjoner han har laget, og som er vist på utstillinger i flere land. Han fortalte også om tradisjonell båtbygging på øya Kerkennah. Salah Ben Amor er vokst opp med bygging og segling med trebåter.
Mulighet for videre kontakt Bindal kommune ønsker, i samarbeid med Helgeland Museum sin avdeling i Bindal og Terråk idrettslag som arrangør av Nordlandsbåtregattaen, å arbeide for å knytte kontakt med trebåtmiljøer i andre land. Mange steder er kunnskapen om tradisjonell trebåtbygging i ferd med å dø ut. Ved å skape et nettverk kan man få mer oppmerksomhet om denne håndverkskulturen. Takk til Frithjof Plahte, SinkabergHansen, Bindal Kraftlag og Hermod Pettersen som bidro økonomisk slik at Salah kunne besøke Bindal denne sommeren. Han fikk oppleve Nordlandsbåtregattaen, og besøkte Alslia og Reppen, viktige tradisjonsmiljøer i Bindal.
Etter foredraget på Bindal museum avduket Ben Amor en installasjon tilegnet fred. Båter laget av tunisiske barn, pyntet med flagg og segl i mange farger, står på to sammenflettede norske og tunisiske flagg. Installasjonen var planlagt for å ære ofrene etter terroraksjonen ved Bardomuseet i Tunisia tidligere i år, men fredag 26. juni skjedde en ny terrorhandling i Sousse, slik at alvoret bak installasjonen brått ble enda tydeligere.

Meeting with Brønnøy Kulturskole

At the meeting, Brønnøy Cultural School signaled great interest in collaborating more closely with Peacepainting. In the future, Nyrud and Orvik will participate in painting workshops on Helgeland, and in projects abroad. The collaboration with Brønnøy Cultural School will be a good starting point for working more closely with all the cultural schools on Helgeland.
Meeting with Namdalshagen AS
This winter, our general manager Catrine Gangstø has participated in courses for founders, and will receive guidance from Lars Petter Langås at Namdalshagen (Næringshagen, Namsos). Peacepainting is further developing its platform and method. The board updates the business plan that will form the basis for an application for support from Bindal Utvikling AS. Before Christmas, the foundation received new support from Nordland County Municipality, and now hopes that it will be possible to bring the work into a new phase, with permanent operations. The goal to be able to finance more permanent positions. Gangstø also gave a lunch lecture in Namdalshagen in February. On the same day, paintings were also exhibited at Namsos Airport, which is now the eighth airport in Norway with paintings from Peacepainting.
Meeting with NGO from Greece
The organization "We are all Citizens"in Greece has contacted Peacepainting, and wants to start a collaborative project in 2015.

In November 2014, three representatives from the association SPOC in Bulgaria were in Bindal, Norway to plan a collaboration with Peacepainting. Peacepainting is invited to arrange a painting workshop in Bulgaria in the summer of 2015. SPOC has received grants from the EU and ESF (European Social Fund, separate program under the Council of Europe) to run projects in schools and to the media to promote tolerance and respect. They must fight racism and xenophobia. Bulgaria has received many refugees in recent years, and has many immigrants.

Workshops in Bindal 2007-2012
The idea goes back to 1993. Various try outs ended up in a permanent educational arrangement which was used actively across cultures. The Church of Norway was the first to invest funds.
